We share the same sky, 2020

J bought “we share the same sky” this as a reminder of her father. His apartment within her home was down the stairs to the left of the armchair.

You are worth it, darling

So pleased to see this portrait of Radio New Zealand’s Megan Whelan, with the artwork she bought of mine, you are worth it darling, in the background. She is so worth it!

A small framed studioprint of I will hold you, 2019 sits nestled within a salon hang of precious memories. Photograph sent to me by the mum of the beautiful child sitting dreaming at the piano.

Something beautiful I found it here, 2015 sitting In Caitriona’s lovely dining room in Whanganui, NZ, with the late afternoon and the lovely shadow it cast. This is an A1 print, framed with a black matt and black frame, and luxurious museum glass, so you can really see into the artwork without reflection getting in the way.

Come home to my arc and my flood, 2017. // This very limited edition original print is sits beautifully in the home of an interior designer/art collector.

AT ALICE AND CALEBS”

Alice & Caleb, from Pearson and Projects, who won The Block in 2013, chose to put it’s beautiful here at the edge in a large size, in their 2019 reno in Alexandra. Alice chose the black on black framing as a dramatic focal point to the parted back dining room. I totally dig how she hung it using chain.

I was thrilled when Julie bought two artworks of mine for her gorgeous B&B, Tack Rooms in Christchurch. A small size It’s beautiful here at the edge, 2018 sits, custom-framed, above the casually taped these are our days, 2014. // Photograph: Julia Atikinson-Dunne, StudioHome

FROM ONE LOVER TO ANOTHER //⠀

⠀⠀

The owner of this medium size print of the hope of my body, 2020 sent me this:

"My lover sent me this beautiful art work, it arrived today. Wow, I’m bowled over by how exquisitely tender it is. Thank you for creating such incredible work."⠀

⠀

T bought this for his partner, P, during lockdown. They live in different cities, in different islands even. It was such a romantic gesture that it made my heart glad to send it. Especially since I'd created the work as a response to the big tender feelings I have for my own partner.⠀

⠀

I LOVE that P has positioned it above her bed - if you look close, in the background of the artwork, behind the words, is a bed. I love the mirroring. Bed with bed. ⠀

⠀

The hope of my body⠀

has always been this:⠀

you and I⠀

lying in the light⠀

of a gentle room⠀

learning the language ⠀

of our kisses.⠀

You feel like home.⠀

because I love you // [photograph by Janel Reid]

ALWAYS TO THE STARS

I love it when someone just casually leans my artwork up against a wall, on an excellent vintage chest. // This is a medium sized limited edition studioprint of Always to the stars.

We are lovely, 2018, at Jane’s place in Christchuch, NZ. Jane sent me this photograph of the artwork in her entranceway, with the shadows the David Trubridge light casts reflected in the artwork.

Heart’s road home, 2018

Hanging with Dick Frizzell’s Foursquare Man in the Louise’s lovely Christchurch kitchen.

Sleep well I am still here :I got a lovely email from Elaine, the owner of this image: “Hi dear Fleur. Just took photo of your work above my bed that comforts me every night. Love E”. It makes me happy that my work is a comfort. We all need comfort eh, no matter our age, or how strong and wise and kickass we are.
